So I am frantically working to get together my MIT Sloan application. I've been to the school and really liked the vibe and atmosphere. Unfortunately, the facilities were crappy, but they have a new building.

Shout out if you're applying to Sloan too and Good luck!

How are you targetting the cover letter?  I saw that they don't ask for your CV.  Did you talk about career vision?

ClearAdmit has some pretty good analysis on how to structure the cover letter. Two strategies for getting career vision in the sloan application that I have heard are:
1 - use the additional essay
2 - put it in the cover letter where its well woven into the fabric of an impact story

im trying to do the latter. its a little tough with the word limit and needs to be structured right, but definitely not impossible. hope this helps.

They ask for your resume/CV, so I'm not certain what you're referring to.

As for the cover letter, I touched a bit on my background and how it relates to my career vision and then also mentioned some accomplishments I hadn't addressed in the essay per their instructions.

Sorry lbiggs,

where did you find the tips from Clearadmit about the essays that you mentioned?

I'm stuck in the CL and I don't know how to apporach it.

thanx!

I second that. The facilities are crappy.  I guess it's an MIT thing, where all the buildings are supposed to look like labs. The new building is looking great though and should be ready by next year. Other than that, I don't want to pitch the school because ultimately, all the info is out there and it's your call. So, I'm just going to suggest that you visit if you can. I'm extremely happy with my experience so far. Good luck!

Just want to make a minor correction...

the facility is crappy "relative" to HBS... Otherwise, it's not that bad! You can't find more than 20 programs that have as good of facility as MIT Sloan has right now.

With that said, the new building looks great, and '12 is a lucky class!
