Anyone applying to Stern in R1. It's a backup school for me, but I am not sure if I should wait until R2 or apply in R1. Im guessing applications are going to skyrocket this year so getting applications as early as possible to best fit schools is a good idea.

appreciate thoughts from anyone in the same boat.

I'm in the same boat - applying round 1 because of Stern's long turnaround time and because I'm an international applicant.

Apply in R1. That way you will know if you have it when you hear back from your other schools.

I am also applying to Stern in Round 1

Any idea what needs to be done for Question 3

Essay 3. Personal Expression

Please describe yourself to your MBA classmates. You may use almost any method to convey your message (e.g. words, illustrations). Feel free to be creative.

Can I use the Chicago ppt here.. fits in perfectly right??

It can work. One thing to remember would be that Chicago gave you very little space (2 essays) to discuss your application. So the presentation was a good way to illustrate things you wanted to but couldn't bring up in the essays. I'd suggest a similar approach for NYU.

They don't like it if you send food for Q3. Apparently some genius actually did once and it went off before it arrived.

For what it's worth, Accepted.com says specifically NOT to use the Chicago PPT presentation.  They don't elaborate, but I imagine the reasoning is that NYU adcom knows about Chicago's application and will recognize that you recycled your work.  Stern has a reputation for being extra sensitive to the "safety school" tag, so I would be careful about using work from another (higher ranked) school's app.
