Anyone else apply to Oxford round 1?

I haven't heard anything yet. Interview invites are supposed to come by 10/30. Anyone else hear anything?

Glad you started this thread.

I haven't heard anything either, submitted my application right before the deadline. My official GMAT scores did not arrive until a week after the R1 deadline and I was informed that my scores needed to be received before Oct 23rd, so I am assuming that the adcoms start sending out interview invites on and after that date.

May be it's just wishful thinking on my part, we'll just have to wait and see.

Best of luck

I also applied on October 9th. Have not heard anything other than a confirmation that my application was complete and would be sent to the admissions board for consideration. From looking at forums on years past, I gather that all interview decisions are sent out on the same day - Oct 30 this year. Would love to know about application volume this year.

I've noticed that when purchasing application fee, it started from 9999 stock remaining. If you look at the current stock remaining, it is 9735. Which makes you assume that max.264 applicants have applied for the 1st round.

Impressive observation - makes sense. Makes me feel pretty good, assuming you are correct. I would have guessed that the volume would have been higher.

Agreed on both counts. Impressive observation and makes me feel better about my chances. I would have guessed that they admit a third of their class in Rd 1, which would be, what? 90+?

I read on some article that Oxford MBA receives around 1,000+ applications every year and so their acceptance rates are aprox. 25%.  If this trend were to be the same for this year, 1st rounders only consists 1/4 and I am hoping that the yield be higher than 25%.

Also to note, Oxford MBA has changed min. TOEFL test iBT score requirement from 100 to 109 this year. This might have impacted to many of the international applicants. From my personal observation, 109+ TOEFL iBT score seems to be more difficult than obtaining 700+ GMAT score. Together with Oxford's unique 2 essay topics, many of the potential Oxford applicants might be avoiding to apply for the 1st round.

Non the less, "if you submit garbage, you get garbage" should be also true, so let's hope that we will be invited to the inverview regardless!

It is not 1000 applications. Check this article, this is from 2007.
http://www.businessschooladmission.com/oxford-said/interview2.php

Last year we received about 1000 applications for 220 places. This year we have already seen a seventy percent increase in the number of applications we've received, which means that the process is becoming more and more competitive.

So it is more than 2000.
