Has anybody gone through self initiated interview at Tuck ?

I am planning to go there on Monday but I am not prepared. Do I need to be ? or I am better off not taking this interview.

If you gone through the process , could you describe what it is like?

Thanks

Yes, I went there on Oct 16th, 2009. It was fairly a simple process. Questions were straight forward - simply coming out of essays and real life situations - I didn't prepare anything - but definitely went over my resume and recall things I did 7 years ago on some project. My interviewer was a second year - she was very laid back - we even exchanged 1 email after interview - I asked her to connect me to someone in the industry I am targeting and she did.

Yes, you should dress formally. I also interviewed in Tuck and there were really simple questions with a second year student. I prepared revising my resume, thinking in some leadership/teamwork examples and having my strengths/weaknesses clear.

Is it wise to skip the class visit when you are there for the interview? with your interview, tuck schedules a class visit, tour and a q&a session.

I guess my question is whether adcom will see you as uninterested if you skip the class visit? I am able to make their interview, but I can't do their class visit (because of available flights)

I visited there in late September and would have to recommend you sit in on the class. It will help you know the program and fit a lot better. Remember, rankings aren't everything; if you're going to spend $100k+ on an education, you should make sure that the classes you will be paying for are a fit. You wouldn't buy a Ferrari without test driving it, would you?
