I would have to conquer with those who believe that your list is completely US centered and fails to acknowledge the diversity of global sports, glorifies American influence, and ignores cultural figures around the world.  Although arguments could easily be made around the list even if it was titled "Americans Power 100 Ratings" it is relatively accurate.  However, although my passion for European football or "soccer" is minimal, I would not hesitate to understand its influence globally.  Furthermore, in countries like India, with over a billion people, American sports do not resonate and cricket holds a great deal of clout, as does Rugby in Australia, or Sumo wrestlering in Japan.  Furthermore, speaking as a Canadian and receiving a storm of US media glorifying football, a sport that has absolutely no interest to me, I feel it misguided to have the list so unnecessarily dominated by the NFL.

The comments that you are seeing above are actually from last year's ranking. This year we created a global ranking as well. You might want to take a look at that, as it covers a lot of the areas that you mention.
