During the next few weeks, we will be publishing the discussions that we had with some of our interviewers about the interviewing process at their business schools to help the prospective applicants. Here is the interview of one of our Columbia Business School interviewers:

Hi, I'm new at this thread. I got an interview invite on 14th but my interview is scheduled next monday due to most alumni's busy schedule. I'm just worried if I'm on disadvantage for interviewing so late...

Given the timeline, does anybody know how the situation is for the J term?  I see only 36 members at the facebook group.

Am not sure if it's real disadvantage to have interview so late - as for me I still haven't heard from Columbia and if I have interview (which am starting to doubt) it will be mid November in the best case...

Has been a while since a decision has been reported on this thread, wonder what the reason for the delay could be. I have been on the complete status for a while now, given that the course starts in early Jan I hope they can give us the decisions as soon as possible. Any idea when the last decision was made based on last year's BW data? I tried searching for it but was unable to find a thread dedicated to the Jan term.

I had my interview on the 19th and my status went complete 4 days after that. I think my interviewer took some  time to submit his response. It's already been >10 days since the status update and that I hope is not a very negative sign. One of the guys on the ED thread did some analysis based on previous year's ED data which shows that the average time between complete and decision is ~9-10 days with a large spread (this distribution is fairly similar for both accept and ding). Wonder if those stats hold for the Jan data too.

My guess is that they wait until the last person goes thru interview so to make a final decision for the whole last pool of candidates. I was invited to interview couple days ago and given I have not so many alumni in my area it might take me some time up to the end of the next week to have my interview (nobody responds actually) - so I assume at least for me the final decision will be in two weeks from now...
