Ken,

You can either enter this as three separate jobs or as one (and include in the job duties section your three promotions). We will accept either option. The same applies to your second question - please just be clear about this company name change in your job duties section.

Best,
Christina

John,

Regarding your questions:

1. Please include this information in the "Job Duties" section. Do not add any non-salary income into your reported job salary.

2. Please follow the instructions on our website for grade conversion. If you wish to deviate from these instructions in any way because you feel the conversion will not accurately represent your academic performance, please take the time to explain your conversion methods in the Optional 4th Essay.

Best,
Christina

rrtanna,

As a reapplicant (you are reapplying within one calendar year of your last application to Columbia Business School), you need only upload a reapplication essay. You do not need to provide any content for the other essays.

Best,
Christina

Hi Christina,

I was admitted to CBS early decision and will begin September 2010.  I'm wondering if you can tell me how discreet the Kroll process is.  Will my employer know that Kroll is contacting them on behalf of Columbia Business School, or will it be totally anonymous?  As you can imagine, this is a very touchy subject in a volatile industry (finance) and I don't want to risk management knowing about my plans to attend school so far in advance of my start date.  Thanks for your help!

Hi Christina,

I wanted to know if there has been any modifications to the loans policy for International Students. I am really interested in applying to Columbia, but the lack of financing is a show stopper for me.

Thanks

Hi Christina,

I am a ED re-applicant at Columbia and was required to submit only the re-applicant essay. However the system did not allow me to submit my application until I complete Q1,2 & 3, which are really for first time applicants.

I submitted the re-applicant question in the allocated space but also submitted blank documents for the other questions in order to submit my application. I could see my re-applicant essay on the PDF that I generated while submitting the application.

Please let me know if I need to contact the admissions office to let them know about my situation or is this fine?

Thanks

i had the same issue.  You should have answered the question asking 'year when you previously applied' as 2009.  I entered 2008 because that was the year in which i applied, however, it looks like the question is asking for what year of matriculation you were applying for.  If you did not apply for 2009 matriculation, then you need to redo the essays.

Thanks Chitownguy for your response. I applied for 2009 fall session but for the same reason as you mentioned, I mentioned the year as 2008.

Did you send up a note to the adcom mentioning about this error?.

Hi everyone,

The thread has been rather quiet lately - I'm writing to remind you that I'm out here and ready to answer any questions about the CBS admissions process.

As a side note, here's an event announcement you all might find interesting - Warren Buffett and Bill Gates will be speaking together at Columbia Business School next month, and the event will be broadcast on CNBC: http://www.cnbc.com/id/33495537.

Best,
Christina
