Hi Christina,

I wanted to know if there has been any modifications to the loans policy for International Students. I am really interested in applying to Columbia, but the lack of financing is a show stopper for me.

Thanks

Hi Christina,

I am a ED re-applicant at Columbia and was required to submit only the re-applicant essay. However the system did not allow me to submit my application until I complete Q1,2 & 3, which are really for first time applicants.

I submitted the re-applicant question in the allocated space but also submitted blank documents for the other questions in order to submit my application. I could see my re-applicant essay on the PDF that I generated while submitting the application.

Please let me know if I need to contact the admissions office to let them know about my situation or is this fine?

Thanks

i had the same issue.  You should have answered the question asking 'year when you previously applied' as 2009.  I entered 2008 because that was the year in which i applied, however, it looks like the question is asking for what year of matriculation you were applying for.  If you did not apply for 2009 matriculation, then you need to redo the essays.

Thanks Chitownguy for your response. I applied for 2009 fall session but for the same reason as you mentioned, I mentioned the year as 2008.

Did you send up a note to the adcom mentioning about this error?.

Hi everyone,

The thread has been rather quiet lately - I'm writing to remind you that I'm out here and ready to answer any questions about the CBS admissions process.

As a side note, here's an event announcement you all might find interesting - Warren Buffett and Bill Gates will be speaking together at Columbia Business School next month, and the event will be broadcast on CNBC: http://www.cnbc.com/id/33495537.

Best,
Christina

Hi Christina,

I already submitted my application for ED, but something about my application has been bugging me and I was wondering if you could please help clarify something.

Under the job duties category, I noticed that the last line I wrote was cut off in my printout(you can only see the top of the letters).  I did not go over the word/character limit, but I think this happened because I inserted spaces between each line so it would be easier for the admissions committee to read.  A couple of questions:

1.      Will the admissions committee be able to view everything I wrote in that box?

2.       Will the admissions committee also review the resume I uploaded?

Thank you very much.

Hi Christina,

When is it safe to say that an ED applicant has been rejected without interview?

3 weeks after review? 4? 5? 6? 7? the whole 10 weeks?

Thanks

2012MBA - That's an excellent question.  I would like to know the answer to this as well.

ML2010,

You wrote, "Under the job duties category, I noticed that the last line I wrote was cut off in my printout(you can only see the top of the letters). 2. Will the admissions committee also review the resume I uploaded?"

The answer to both of your questions is "yes" - no need to worry!

Best,
Christina
