I'm kind of bummed because I just realized that I missed the Oct 2nd deadline date to request an off-campus interview.  I live in the Chicago area, so an on-campus interview is apparently not an option.  Since I'm applying for the 1Y program, I really wanted to be considered a Round 1 applicant (and therefore was just focused on the Oct 15th application submittal date).  Did anyone else miss this interview request dealine?  Do you think there's any way to still be considered a Rd 1 applicant???

E-mail the admissions office if they can fit you into the Round 1 off-campus interview schedule if you submit part 1 ASAP. They won't be able to guarantee anything, but there are a lot of alums in Chicago so may not be too hard to schedule. It's definitely worth a try to ask.

Just submitted my application for Kellogg. Thought I wouldnt say this, but really enjoyed writing essays for Kellogg. Really forced me to introspect and look inwards.

Regarding application numbers this year, I found this article on beat the gmat http://www.beatthegmat.com/a/2009/09/02/the-rise-and-fall-of-mba-application-volumes-a-less-competitive-year

Overall, they're predicting lower applications from internationals and people with stable jobs.

Also, was talking to an MIT adcom person about application numbers and rise in GMAT tests taken and he mentioned that due to increased competition applicants applied to 5-8 schools instead of 2-3 and took the GMAT multiple times and that he expects overall the applications numbers to be flat or increase 4-5% this year. Worth sharing with the forum.

Good luck y'all!

I submitted mine in the mid Sept and did an alum interview on 3 Oct.
The process may be a bit different because I'm an international applicant.
Anyway, good luck to all of you.

@Guderian
How was your interview -- can you share the questions asked. Where did you interview? Would love to get more 411 about your interview experience. =)

I had the interview in his office and there were no hard questions- mostly he asked about the 'why' questions (why MBA, why Kellogg etc) and my resume.
He also asked  about
my leadership experiences and 3 strengths & weaknesses.
hope this will help you.

I submitted Part 1 of my app mid-September and Part 2 on Oct 10.  I had an interview scheduled on Oct 6, but the interviewer canceled and has not responded to any of my emails to reschedule.  I'm going to wait until end of next week to see if I hear anything before I contact the admissions office.  What a bummer.

hi everyone.

I have a question to interview scheduel. I received the interview assignment with an alumni one week ago. I sent an email to interviewer and still not hear back from him. I guess he must be very busy. Will try to call him today.

Can I request change to on-campus interview or change interviewer? I am not in chicago!

Hey guys, just got done with my interview as well - I got the same questions - Why Kellogg, Why now, etc -  Where else are you guys applying? I'm applying to HBS, Chicago, Berkeley, Michigan -  Does anyone have an opinion on the Chicago vs Kellogg debate?  A lot of my friends are biased towards Chicago.
